• Yes, Origin starts and immediately tries to log you in on start up. You can change this in your computer's options.

• Probably because Origin is set to boot on startup, you can turn that off. Also its wise to close down unwanted things in task manager.

  although it should not be taking 7-8 minutes to launch programs especially on a computer with those specs even with origin loading on launch
• I just thought of this , maybe your hard drive is failing? I'd check it, even new hard drives can fail. Failing hard drives can cause issues like that, slow program startups.

  Thanks everyone. I wondered if it was trying to do that. I'll see if I can find the setting that stops it loading on startup

  I know, it's really odd, but the only thing new on my computer is TS2, 4 and Origin. Apart from patches/updates, I mostly keep it offline as I use my iPad for internet. I'll try to disable it first, and if that fails, I'll try and uninstall it as a test.

  Yikes..that's true, scary but true! I'll see if I can take a look. I'm not the most technical person out there, but I use my PC for music production too so I'd better do some backing up and get digging into the problem! Thank you
